The Height of Liveaboard Diving Expertise
Dewi Nusantara is the ideal launching pad for experiencing the wonders of the underwater world in the far flung corners of Indonesia. Outfitted with serious ocean faring capacities and redundancies she operates effortlessly in areas where shore services are unavailable.
The ship’s triple masts and the royal blue sheen on her hull impend a sense of majesty and tradition. Her name means Goddess of Sea and her ironwood hull, handcrafted by the master boat builders of Kalimantan, cuts through the ocean leaving nearly no wake.
Dewi Nusantara’s owner built her to specifications accumulated as the result of over 300,000 NM of logged sailing, diving and discovering new species of fauna. Over 20 years experience in the islands coupled with her expert crew catapults Dewi Nusantara into a league of her own for discovering Indonesia’s underwater treasures.
Dewi Nusantara is most suitable for conservation groups, marine biologists and diving enthusiasts looking for the ultimate underwater experiences in supreme comfort.

The Staterooms
MASTER AND COMMANDER’S SUITE
The full-beam master suite is 46 square meters equipped with a king-sized bed, bathtub, corner sofa and a table made out of a single piece of teak wood. Occupying the aft deck with panoramic windows offering 180 degree ocean views, it is one of the most awe inspiring spaces onboard any liveaboard dive vessel in the world.
8 DELUXE STATEROOMS
Each deluxe stateroom is 20 square meters on the lower deck. Equipped with beds adaptable for twin or double use, en-suite bathrooms (4,5m by 1,3m), reading lights, 220V power points, hanging storage for clothing, and a comfortable desk.
The staterooms are decorated with intricate wooden carvings, curved furniture and bright colors. The deck below is pressured to promote excellent air circulation and freshness in the staterooms.
Crew
Dewi Nusantara’s discreet and attentive crew of 18 is complemented by one cruise director and four dive-masters.
Directly preceding each dive a briefing using hand drawn site maps is given with information concerning dive type, suggested depths and marine life expectations.
Dewi Nusantara’s dive-masters are experts in locating rare and elusive marine life. Their guidance based on years of experience in the vast area between the tropical rainforests of Papua and Eastern Nusa Tenggara will give you means to live out your journey as a true ocean explorer.

History
Building a traditional wooden vessel the size of Dewi Nusantara is a complex enterprise requiring an eclectic combination of inputs. A knowledge of naval architecture and marine systems combined with an availability of ironwood and master carpenters cannot be found at any one place.
Dewi Nusantara’s operator has a long history in adventure and dive cruises after launching a 43-meter phinisi in 1997 and a 38-meter liveaboard in 2002.
With Dewi Nusantara, he wanted to pay homage to the British Navy sailing ships at a scale never seen in the marine tourism industry. The result is the culmination of extensive experience with both shipbuilding and dive charter operations specifically in Indonesia.
