]]> Ten days of exploring the islands and reefs East of Maumere in Flores was my first experience with the Seven Seas liveaboard dive boat. Truly a trip of a lifetime, having the chance to explore Indonesia on the Seven Seas has been a dream of mine since I first arrived in Bali in 2007. Our route explored some of the most incredible islands of the archipelago, rarely visited by travelers.

]]> Raja Ampat, or the ‘Four Kings’ in English, is known to be the most bio-diverse marine ecosystem in the world. The reefs teem with life of all shapes, sizes, and colors. It’s a divers paradise. Every year, Alex spends around five months diving exclusively in Raja Ampat as part of his job as a liveaboard photographer. This is a short homage to the Four Kings from three seasons and over a thousand dives in the area.

]]> Valerie and Ron Taylor first visited Komodo National Park in the 1970’s. They discovered a paradise seen by only a few adventurous divers. One of the highlights was the discovery of ‘Valerie’s Rock’, a tiny outcrop of an island that is home to some of the most beautiful coral reefs in the world.

In 2018, we returned to Valerie’s Rock on an expedition with the Seven Seas liveaboard dive boat. We found the same magic that Valerie and Ron first saw here so many decades ago.

Hear Valerie’s thoughts on Komodo and her life as a pioneering underwater cinematographer and conservationist.
