The Yacht

The yacht that anchors on the reef and sets up the beach.

Rascal is a luxurious beach house on the water, built for the day on land as much as the day at sea. Natural teak floors, an indoor bar at the center of the boat with her own-label rum, an alfresco dining deck placed for the sea breeze, and a large roof deck of 1,280 square feet for sunsets. Each afternoon the crew set up a private beach with umbrellas, music and coolers, and it becomes the part of the week guests always remember.

At 30 meters she is the smallest boat in our fleet, small and perfectly formed. She slips into the small bays and tight anchorages that the bigger boats pass. Two RIB tenders, a PADI instructor, kayaks, paddleboards, water skis, a wakeboard and a banana boat cover the water. Her operating rule is one sentence: if coconuts do not grow there, she does not go there.

Handcrafted in teak and ironwood by the Konjo builders of Sulawesi, she carries her five cabins across two decks above the waterline, so the rooms stay bright, the ceilings high and the views constant. The master on the upper deck opens onto a private balcony with its own loungers.

Her interiors read as a designer beach house afloat, an east-meets-west blend with ample storage for the long itineraries and a film library and music system in every cabin. She was built, in her builders' own words, for barefoot fun in the far-flung islands.

The Experience

The Right Guests for Rascal

As her name suggests, Rascal is for fun-loving families and groups of friends. She is a true leisure boat: beaches, water sports, good food and cocktails, with casual diving alongside, and she takes ten guests and no more. For a family with young children the formula is short cruising days, beaches to run on, reefs to reach from the sand, and a crew that becomes part of the family. The bunk cabin on the main deck is for the children, and we can arrange a nanny to travel with you and have toys and a travel crib on board before arrival. Equally, a group of couples who want an active week of water sports, long dinners and laughter will find Rascal the perfect platform.

Our journal piece on chartering Rascal with young children records how a week works: Friwin's long white beach on the first day, the jetty at Yenbuba on the second morning, where a four-year-old saw her first turtle, children's films loaded before the family arrived, and a crew that had warmed to the children by the first breakfast.

Accommodation

Five Rooms, Five Personalities

The master suite occupies the upper deck, its king bed framed by large windows and a private balcony where lounge chairs face whatever the sea is doing that morning. Below, four more cabins span the upper and main decks: three are configured as doubles, one carries bunk beds suited to children or anyone who enjoys a climb. Each space is individually styled, east-meets-west in its references, with natural teak floors, air conditioning, flat-screen televisions, and interactive music systems throughout.

High ceilings and above-water positioning keep all five cabins naturally bright. Ample storage removes the compromises that come with living out of bags. Rascal was designed for extended passages, and the cabins feel like it, comfortable enough to be home for 10 nights without anyone feeling confined.

Aboard

The anchorage is yours. No other vessel for 40 miles. The only decision is whether to dive first or just float for a while.

A Closer Look

Rascal in Detail

Who built her and why, the crew that takes to children, where she goes, and the beach day that is her signature.

Built in 2016 for One Purpose
The Build

Built in 2016 for One Purpose

Konjo craftsmen in Sulawesi built her in teak and ironwood to a brief her founders can state in one sentence. One of them put it to us this way: "I want people to think, at the end of each day, that it was one of the best of their lives." Everything about her follows from that.

Questions

Rascal FAQ

How much does it cost to charter Rascal?

Rascal charters at USD $12,000 per night, year-round, across all destinations. A standard 7-night charter comes to $84,000 before VAT. Rates are plus 12% Indonesian VAT. The rate includes crew of 11, all meals and non-alcoholic beverages, airport transfers, national park fees, use of all water sports equipment, and diving for certified divers.

How many guests can Rascal accommodate?

Rascal accommodates up to 10 guests in 5 cabins: 1 master suite on the upper deck with king bed and private balcony, 1 upper deck double, 2 main deck doubles, and 1 main deck bunk cabin. The bunk cabin suits children or two guests comfortable with the arrangement.

Is Rascal suitable for diving?

Rascal carries a PADI instructor and equipment for ten, and diving is part of most weeks aboard her. She is a leisure boat first, built around beaches, water sports and food, so a group whose week is entirely about diving is better matched to one of the larger yachts with a full dive center.

Where does Rascal cruise?

Rascal cruises Komodo National Park from April to October, the Spice Islands and Banda Sea in April and October, and Raja Ampat from November to March. Repositioning to other destinations between Bali and the Banda Islands is possible on request, with a repositioning fee applied.
