Two identical phinisis built around one region: the Mentawai and the breaks north of them.
Siloina I and Siloina II are completely identical, so a group on either yacht gets the same trip and two groups can charter at once. Each carries two aluminum console-steering tenders with 100-horsepower Suzuki four-strokes, because on a Mentawai trip the difference between a clean session and a long wait is the tender ride, and these are sized to make it short and dry.
Three sun decks stack above for sunrise sessions, midday shade and evening drinks. The air-conditioned saloon below holds the bar, the library, the games and the screen for the day's footage. Six cabins take twelve guests with a crew of fourteen, and an extra crew cabin is available for a surf coach, a photographer or a group leader. When the swell is flat, the program turns to spearfishing, trolling, jigging, scuba or the islands themselves.
Both hulls are new, launched in 2023 and 2024 to a design by Marc Christoffel, and the operation behind them spent years running luxury charters in Raja Ampat and Papua before bringing that standard west to the surf. It shows in details a surf boat rarely has: a dedicated bartender at the back-deck bar, proper meals through the day, and a crew that sets up lounge chairs and cold drinks on a secluded beach when the session ends.
The route runs from the Mentawai north through the Telos, Nias, the Banyaks and the West Aceh coast, past names every surfer knows: Rifles, Kandui, Lance's Right and Left, Macaronis. The biggest swells arrive from May to October, and the October to December shoulder can produce some of the best waves of the year with far fewer boats on them. The onboard guide reads the forecasts each morning and puts the boat on the wave that fits the group, from playful walls to serious barrels.
The Experience
The Right Guests for Siloina
A surf trip, and the group of friends who want one boat to themselves and the second for the rest of the crowd. Six cabins that convert to twins suit a group traveling as singles. She is a surf boat first, with diving and fishing when the swell drops, and a group whose week is about reefs and culture should look at the eastern fleet instead.
A guest from Los Angeles summed it up: eat, surf, sleep, repeat. The day on Siloina starts before the sea breeze, with the group in the lineup at first light, lunch aboard while the wind textures the exposed breaks, and a second session in the late afternoon. The saloon screens the day's footage after dinner.
The Vessel
Technical Specifications
Two Vessels, One Program
Siloina I and Siloina II are completely identical. Same hull, same six-cabin layout, same Suzuki tenders, same fully stocked bar. The two-vessel structure means simultaneous charters, faster turnarounds between bookings, and a crew that moves between yachts without missing a step. Either vessel delivers the same trip.
Accommodation
Six Cabins, All Convertible
Each Siloina has six air-conditioned, en-suite cabins. Each cabin converts between double and twin configurations, so the same berth works for a couple traveling together and for two friends sharing on a group trip. Hot, fresh-water showers, full air conditioning, and finishes in warm timber.
For surf coaches, photographers, and group leaders, an extra crew cabin can be made available on request. With twelve guest berths plus the optional crew cabin, groups have room to bring the surf coach or the photographer without compromising the guest cabins.
