Cruising grounds from Myanmar to West Papua

Cruising the Ring of Fire

Indonesia’s volcanic islands rise from both the Indian and Pacific oceans in the heart of the Coral Triangle. Nearly 3 million km² (1.16 million mi²) of marine area is home to thousands of aquatic species, 17% of the world’s total coral reefs, and arguably the best cruising grounds in the entire world.

The chain of 17,000 islands stretch over 5,000 km (3,100 mi) on both sides of the Equator, spanning a distance longer than the continental United States. Some of Indonesia’s national parks on their own are larger than European countries. The possibilities for adventures are limitless.

The Ultimate Adventure Destinations

Born of shifting tectonic plates in prehistoric times, Indonesia’s archipelago is home to the oldest rainforests in the world and orangutans, tigers, elephant, tarsiers, and Komodo dragons. Eight UNESCO World Heritage sites grace her lands, where 300 regional languages are united under one flag.

Ancient temples and Dutch architecture testify to a storied past of powerful kingdoms and colonial spice trade subjugation. Offering dramatic topography and an immense array of wildlife and cultures in one of the most diverse ecosystems on the planet, Indonesia is an intricate and endlessly fascinating frontier.
