Settle into the yacht, then take a tender ride to Mansinam island, where a 30-meter statue of Christ marks the place where Christian missionaries first arrived on the island. In the afternoon, cruise to Wairundi.
Arrive at the southernmost part of Cenderawasih Bay, near the village of Kwatisore. It is here that whale sharks gather, and where you will have the opportunity to swim among the biggest fish in the sea. Enjoy their presence as they feed on small baitfish stored in nets under the villagers’ fishing platforms.
Trek the island to catch sight of the bird of paradise and visit the local village. The name ‘Kwatisore’ means ‘afternoon mist’, which you will witness descending over the hills. After dark, head out with local fishermen to observe how they catch using nets and lights, or go in search of saltwater crocodiles.
The Tridacna Atoll is surrounded by an exquisite shallow reef with a vibrant wall that makes for excellent diving. Time spent at Tridacna is the perfect opportunity to relax or enjoy the water sports of your choice.
