Itinerary Synopsis

This 10-night, dive-focused cruise within the extraordinary Komodo National Park begins and ends in Bali, Indonesia’s most popular paradise, for a round-trip adventure that takes in all the Park highlights.

Day

Serangan - Satonda

158 NM (293 KM) | ~ 22.5 HOURS

Depart from Serangan Harbor on an overnight cruise to Satonda Island. Between Bali and Lombok, cross over the Wallace Line which separates Indonesia’s archipelago into two faunal ecozones. Settle in and savor the sunset over Bali’s majestic Mount Agung.

Satonda - Gili Lawa Laut

112 NM (207 KM) | ~ 16 HOURS

Arrive at Satonda and enjoy two dives along a sloping reef with a white sandy bottom and colorful corals. Take a short hike to see the island’s salt water crater lake. Cruise overnight into Komodo National Park.

Gili Lawa Laut - Komodo National park

16 NM (30 KM) | ~ 2.5 HOURS

Wake early to glimpse the sunrise and unique bird species in this picturesque bay. Dive many magnificent sites with large schools of fish and good visibility. Hike the hill for a panorama of the Komodo archipelago.

ANCHOR AT KOMODO NATIONAL PARK | ~

Walk among dragons with a guided tour of Komodo Island. After encounters with the primeval reptiles, enjoy ocean views as we cruise south. Dusk dive at Lehok Sera to spot the elusive mandarin fish and anchor for the night in this tranquil bay.

Komodo National Park - Loh Sera - Manta Alley

12 NM (22 KM) | ~ 2 HOURS

Leave early morning for Langkoi, or Manta Alley, for sightings of the gentle giants. After two dives, cruise to Nusa Kode for towering cliff views and a macro dive, then jump into the dinghy for up-close views of Rinca's beachcombing dragons. After sunset, prepare for a night dive.

Manta Alley - Nusa Kode

18 NM (33 KM) | ~ 2.5 HOURS

View more dragons on Nusa Kode, along with monkeys, deer and sea eagles. Dive the famous ‘macro temple’ Cannibal Rock for views of almost every sea critter in the book. Cruise to Padar and dive in warmer temperatures with increased visibility. Hike to a sunset viewpoint then gear up for a night dive.

Day

Nusa Kode - Padar - Wainilu

26 NM (48 KM) | ~ 4 HOURS

Cruise to ‘current city’ with even better visibility and larger schools of fish. In the afternoon, head to Wainilu for a hike that affords a beautiful view of Rinca and surrounding islands. On a night dive in Wainilu it is possible to see bobtail squid, starry night octopus and fingered dragonet on its white sand slope.

Day

Wainilu - Gili Lawa Darat - Castle & Crystal Rock - Banta

31 NM (57 KM) | ~ 4.5 HOURS

Explore Gili Lawa Laut and Gili Lawa Darat with stops at Castle Rock and Crystal Rock, the ‘fishiest’ dives in the Park. Then wave farewell to Komodo National Park as the journey returns west. Anchor overnight at Banta Island for the last night dive and the best sunset behind Sangeang’s active volcano.

Day

Gili Banta - Sangeang

16 NM (30 KM) | ~ 2.5 HOURS

Depart early morning to watch lava flow from Sangeang crater’s edge into the sea. The black sandy bottom here makes for spectacular diving at Hot Rocks and Black forest, where sulfur bubbles up from seafloor vents. At the end of the diving day, sail through the night for Moyo Island.

Sangeang - Moyo

117 NM (217 KM) | ~ 17 HOURS

Arrive at Moyo Island for the final two reef dives. Walk through the island’s village to a waterfall, grab a rope, swing over the falls and drop into the pool! Back onboard, enjoy a relaxing cruise back to Bali.
